SOCIAL PRESSURES BEING STUDENTS

Being student is not easy as its looks, especially in Indonesian college. A student should have good intellectual and high creativity. Besides, student also should be able in good socialization among their friends, lectures and people. But, the fact is not easy to do and make pressure for several students. And, one of pressure that influences students is social pressure. It consist three major social pressures. There are social environment, relationships, and social culture. 

First, being students’ social environment might make pressure for them. Environment adaptations in a new places; such as, in college, boarding house, neighbor sometimes make them feel not confident and need for several times to adapt with it.  The other social environment pressure is life style. It cannot denied that life style in college make pressure for them; for example, clothing, food, and gadget. Furthermore, social environment intercourse also make pressures them. As a result, it makes students being not confident and feel loneliness.

The other pressure is relationship. Relationships can be a positive because they can encourage and motivate us. But, relationships also make pressure for students. Friends or classmates can be an enemy for students. They are competitor to get the best grade in a college. Then, lectures might make pressure for students. For example, the lecture gives many assignments and the student does not like with the lecture, it will hard for them to follow the subject. In addition, parents make pressure for them too. Parents’ desirability wants their children get good grades and get best tittle; and, they demand being that they want. Indeed, relationships are really influence for students to get good socialization but, sometimes it makes pressures and make frustrated.

Third, social culture is also makes pressure for students. Language became constraint if they are not from the region of native language. Although they have national or international language, it still hard for them and it makes miss communication. Then, students character every region are also different. For example, characters Batak people are different with java people. It became miss conception like tunes voice and dialect speak. Moreover, stratums also make students being pressure because students come from various circle and families. They will feel strange and sometimes they will be bullied. In short, social culture could make students pressures when they have miss understand with the native culture.

Last of all, social pressures being students can influence them in their study and their future. Whatever the pressures that students have, it has being risk and must be do. Because being students should be strong and be able in any condition and situation.
